Winter Storm
Hermitage Place has been Santa-tized as Santa Claus windsocks hang from mailboxes in the southwest subdivision of Murray Tuesday morning hours after two inches of ice and snow covered roadways overnight.
It doesn't come often enough, but I do enjoy being able to get out and shoot something that doesn't involve a basketball, baseball, hard wood floor or turf. With the first real snowfall of the year, I had an opportunity to dust off the 'news' gear and help out with some feature photos. Suffice to say, these two young lads made the adventure worth while and were good 'sports' along the way.

My Claim To Fame With Rog Blagojevich
This picture was on Jan. 3 of 2003 when I was a staff photographer for the Southern Illinoisan in Carbondale, Ill., and Rod Blagojevich was the newly appointed Illinois Governor. Nearly, five years later, it seems Blago's run in the state senate is over.
What stuck out to me when I was in the process of taking this photo was how it gave the resemblance of a Lincoln penny and since Illinois is the Land Of Lincoln, I thought it would be a different perspective on what the citizens thought they were getting in a new Governor. Boy, were we wrong!
